Products & Materials
We offer standard paper (matte or semi-gloss) and a variety of synthetic materials. Paper stickers are budget-friendly and writable (useful for temporary indoor labels). Vinyl stickers and labels are thicker, flexible, and waterproof/UV-resistant, making them ideal for outdoor use. BOPP (biaxially oriented polypropylene) is a durable plastic film used on rolls; it’s moisture- and oil-resistant (often food-safe) for product labels. We also offer clear vinyl/BOPP (transparent) and specialty finishes like holographic or metallic.
Vinyl typically lasts the longest outdoors. It’s highly durable, waterproof, and UV-resistant. Heavy-duty BOPP also performs well, but it’s thinner than vinyl. In contrast, paper stickers are not recommended for wet/outdoor use as they tear easily and can’t handle moisture.
Many of our stickers are. Our vinyl and laminated polyester (PET) stickers are waterproof and designed for outdoor use. For example, we UV-coat vinyl stickers to protect against rain and fading. However, plain paper stickers are not waterproof. If you need water-resistant labels (e.g. for bottles or outdoor gear), ask us for a laminated or plastic material.
Static-cling is a non-adhesive sticker that sticks to smooth surfaces (like glass or metal) by static electricity. These clings can be applied and removed multiple times without adhesive residue. They’re great for car/window decals where no sticky glue is desired.
Yes, but it depends on the finish. Matte paper and some matte vinyl surfaces accept pen or pencil writing easily. Glossy or UV-coated stickers (like gloss vinyl) are slick – you would need a permanent marker for any writing. If you need a writable label (for dates, batch numbers, etc.), opt for our matte or uncoated paper/Vinyl material.
Custom Orders & Design
We accept vector and high-res raster files. Preferred formats include PDF, AI, EPS, or layered PSD. We also take high-resolution PNG/JPG (300 DPI or higher) for non-vector art. Please convert fonts to outlines/paths. If your file isn’t print-ready, our art team can assist for a small fee.
Yes. Paper stickers are our most eco-friendly option since they’re made from renewable paper (some with recycled content). We can also source biodegradable or recycled-material labels on request. Our plastic films (vinyl, BOPP) are long-lasting but not biodegradable, so we recommend paper when sustainability is a priority.
Vinyl is thicker and more flexible, making it excellent for heavy-duty outdoor use. BOPP is a thinner plastic film that still resists moisture and chemicals; it’s commonly used for product labels and packaging. In short: vinyl = very rugged/outdoor; BOPP = waterproof and oil-resistant, great for water bottles, food, etc.
Yes. Clear vinyl or BOPP lets your design “float” on transparent surfaces. For example, clear vinyl stickers use white ink to make colors pop, giving an invisible (see-through) background. We also offer white, metallic, matte, and gloss finishes. Let us know your project and we’ll recommend the best background.
Embossing presses a raised image into the material (with or without ink) for a 3D effect. Foil stamping adds metallic foil (gold, silver, etc.) to your design via heat. These are premium effects often used on paper labels. (See our Design Services page for examples.)
Yes. After you place your order, our art team will review and prepare a digital proof of your sticker/label. You’ll receive this proof by email within 1–2 business days (or log in to your account to view it). Please review it carefully for any errors. We won’t start production until we have your approval. (We do not print physical samples/proofs, since each sticker is custom.)
Absolutely. If you don’t have artwork ready, we offer free basic layout services. Our in-house designers can arrange your text/logos on the template at no charge. We also have a large clip-art library if you need graphics. For more complex design work, custom illustration, or logo tweaks, we offer full design services for a quoted fee. Just let us know what you need when you contact us.
Yes. We can cut most custom shapes (within size limits). Simply specify your desired width × height or provide a dieline if it’s an unusual shape. We do charge an additional setup fee for very custom dielines. Note: Irregular shapes (non-rectangular) may increase the cost per sticker. Contact our support team with your design and requirements.
You can upload your files directly in the online checkout after building your order. Alternatively, you can email artwork to our design team after ordering. Be sure to reference your order number in the email. We’ll check your files and let you know if any issues arise.
You have a window (usually up to 24 hours before production begins) to request a change. If your proof is approved, changes are treated as a new order. Please double-check everything before approval to avoid delays.
You can get an instant price by configuring a product on our site with your specs. If you need a formal quote (for billing or approval), contact sales with your requirements. We typically send customized quotes within one business day.
Ordering & Payment
We accept all major credit/debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Payment is processed securely through our PCI-compliant gateway. For larger or wholesale orders, we can also invoice established clients (Net 30 terms upon credit approval). All prices are listed in CAD (or local currency) and include sales tax where applicable.
Yes. Our website uses SSL encryption for all transactions. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers. You can shop with confidence.
On the checkout page, enter your coupon code in the “Discount” field. The order total will automatically update. Only one coupon can be used per order, and some coupons have restrictions (minimum order, specific products, etc.).
Because our products are custom-made, changes can only be made before your proof is approved and production starts. If you need to update address, quantity, or artwork, contact us immediately. Once you approve the proof or the order enters production, we cannot change or cancel it.
After your order ships, we will email you a tracking number. Simply enter that number on the carrier’s website (USPS, UPS, FedEx, Canada Post, Purolator etc.) to see real-time status updates. You can also view tracking in your account under Order History. (Sticker Rhino’s shipper, for example, recommends tracking on UPS.com or Google by order number.)
You can place an order as a guest (just provide email and address), but creating an account lets you track orders more easily, reorder previous items, and save artwork. We encourage new customers to sign up, but it’s optional.
Yes. We ship worldwide via UPS, USPS, DHL, or local postal carriers. International shipping costs vary by country and will be shown at checkout. Customs duties and taxes may apply upon delivery (these are the customer’s responsibility). As an example, Canada Post Xpresspost (USA) delivers in ~2–3 days to the U.S.; USPS Priority Mail Express guarantees 1–3 days within the U.S.. (For specific country transit times, see the “Shipping & Delivery” section below.)
Shipping & Delivery
We offer multiple carriers and speeds. For US destinations, we typically use USPS Priority (2–3 business days) or UPS Ground (1–5 days, depending on distance). Expedited options include UPS 2nd Day Air and Next Day Air (for extra cost). Sticker Mule, for example, offers UPS 2nd Day Air free on orders over $21 (U.S.). For international orders, options include USPS Priority International, UPS Worldwide Saver, DHL Express, or Canada Post Expedited. During checkout, enter your shipping address to see available methods, costs, and delivery estimates.
Shipping costs depend on the order weight and destination. We calculate the exact cost at checkout (or you can use the shipping calculator on our site). We also offer flat-rate boxes and free shipping on orders over a certain amount (e.g. Free UPS Ground on orders over $100 in the continental U.S., if applicable). Note that bulky or heavy items may incur dimensional-weight charges.
There are two parts: production and transit. Production time (our turnaround) depends on order size; for typical orders it’s about 3–5 business days. (For example, Sticker Mule’s standard is 4 business days production. We offer rush production—about 3 days—for an extra fee.) After production, shipping transit to you depends on the chosen service. For instance, USPS Priority is usually 2–3 days in the U.S., and Canada, UPS Ground ~1–5 days. We provide an estimated delivery date at checkout that combines production + shipping time.
First, check the tracking info. If the carrier shows “delivered” but you haven’t received it, or if tracking is stuck, contact us. We’ll work with the carrier to locate it. If confirmed lost, we will re-ship replacements at no extra cost. For lost shipments, Sticker Mule “provides free reprints of missing items”. Always ensure your shipping address is complete (missing apartment/suite numbers are a common issue).
Yes. USPS/Canada Post First-Class Mail or Priority Mail can deliver to PO Boxes and military APO/FPO addresses (with restrictions on size/weight). UPS and FedEx require street addresses. Select USPS at checkout if you only have a P.O. box.
We generally cannot split one order into multiple shipments; each order ships together. If you need items sent to different addresses, please place separate orders for each destination.
We pack stickers flat when possible. Smaller stickers are usually shrink-wrapped in stacks (about 50 per stack) and put in a sturdy padded mailer or box. Rolls or tubes are used for very long stickers. We label all packages clearly and secure them against bending. All shipments include tracking and basic insurance ($100) by default.
Returns & Refunds
Because our products are custom-made, we do not accept returns for “change of mind” or design preferences. All sales are final except in cases of print defects or damage. If your order arrives defective (misprints, smudges, cuts in the wrong place, etc.), please contact us within 72 hours of delivery with photos of the issue. We verify and then will reprint or refund the defective portion at no charge.
For defects or damage, email support with a clear photo showing the problem. We will instruct you on returns if needed. Typically, we ask for the defective item(s) to be mailed back (with a prepaid label we provide) and then send replacements. We cover return shipping for confirmed errors. Note: for label dispenser units, there is a 14-day window to report faults under our 2-year warranty.
Unfortunately not. Since every sticker/label is custom to your design, we cannot resell it. This is standard industry practice. For order mistakes (wrong size/shape chosen, changed mind), we suggest placing a new order with the desired specs.
If you spot an error before proofs are approved, contact us ASAP and we’ll fix it (e.g. wrong color or size). If you approved the proof and then changed your mind, we can’t change that order. Always carefully review the proof and product options.
Because of the custom nature, we don’t do traditional exchanges. However, if an error occurred on our end (misprinted content or material), we will reprint the correct item for you once the mistake is confirmed.
Contact us immediately upon receipt if anything is wrong. As a guideline, notify us within 72 hours of delivery for defects, or within 14 days for issues with label dispenser mechanisms under warranty. After these windows, we may not be able to honor reprints or refunds.
Care & Use
First, clean and dry the surface (no dust/oil). For large vinyl stickers, peel back a portion of backing and align it at one edge, then gradually smooth it down with a squeegee or credit card to push out air as you peel off the rest of the backing. Work slowly and apply pressure to avoid bubbles. If bubbles do form, gently lift and reapply or use a pin to puncture and smooth out.
Some (like static-cling or removable stickers) can be peeled off and reapplied, but permanent vinyl/label adhesives bond strongly. To remove permanent stickers, slowly peel from one corner; heat (hair dryer) can soften the glue. Clean any residue with rubbing alcohol. Permanent stickers generally will not come off cleanly if reapplied.
Our outdoor-rated vinyl and BOPP labels are waterproof and can handle wet environments. They can go on bottles, coolers, or fridge containers. However, for best longevity, avoid dishwashers or very rough handling. Matte paper stickers are NOT waterproof and should stay dry.
Our vinyl and polyester labels tolerate hot/cold (roughly -40°F to 190°F). Laminated plastics resist heat/sunlight well. (Unlaminated paper labels can peel off in high heat or dissolve in water.) Consult product details for exact ranges if needed.
Troubleshooting
Check surface prep: it must be clean, dry, and smooth (no grease or dirt). Most adhesives need at least 50°F and take up to 24 hours to reach full bond. If surface was cold or dusty, warm it and press firmly. If issues persist, try a different material/adhesive (e.g. vinyl vs static-cling).
Monitor colors vary; we use CMYK printing. We cannot precisely match every monitor or Pantone ink. If exact color matching is critical, specify Pantone codes and we’ll attempt to match as closely as possible. We cannot guarantee an exact on-screen color match.
Your file’s resolution may be low. Ideally, artwork should be 300 DPI at full size. Contact us, and we can advise if your file needs upgrading or recreation.
First try clearing your browser cache or switching browsers. For login/order issues, sometimes logging out and back in helps. If errors continue, email us the details (screenshot is great) and we’ll assist.
Wholesale & Bulk Orders
Yes. Our pricing is tiered by quantity. The more you order, the lower the per-unit price. Volume discounts kick in at higher quantities (and especially on roll labels). You can see prices for higher quantities on the product page. For very large or recurring orders, ask about a custom wholesale program or account.
For die-cut vinyl stickers, the minimum is usually 20 pieces of a single design. Some label products (rolls) have higher minimums (e.g. 50 labels on a roll). Check the product page; we’ve tried to keep minimums low to accommodate small businesses and hobbyists.
We welcome bulk and repeat customers. Contact our sales team to discuss volume discounts, net payment terms, or co-op marketing arrangements. We can provide invoices and quotes for budgeting purposes.
